Where is the model number on a stove or range?
On most freestanding ranges it's on a sticker inside the oven door frame, open the door and look at the face of the cabinet around the oven opening. Slide-in models sometimes put it on a label behind the bottom drawer instead. Snap a photo with your phone so you've got both the model and serial number ready when you call or text us.
Is it worth repairing a stove, or should I just replace it?
A common rule of thumb: if the repair costs less than half the price of a comparable new range, fix it. Stoves are durable appliances, a 10-year-old gas range with a cracked knob or a bad infinite switch is almost always worth a $20-$50 part rather than a $700 replacement. Where the math starts to flip is when the electronic control board on an older unit runs $200 or more and there are other worn components on deck.
Are stove parts universal, or do I need an exact match?

Gas ranges require you to shut off the gas supply valve before disconnecting any burner or valve component, and you should check every connection with soapy water or a gas detector before relighting.
